The early church faced internal debates (Acts 15:1-41), namely whether Christians must first meet the laws of Moses before being recognized as a Christian. This question, what does it take to be a Christian, is still argued about today. We create barriers to finding Christ’s love through hypocrisy, name calling and even searching for happiness in the wrong places. We must work to remove these barriers, to live a life that shows the power of God’s love and grace. And when in doubt how to respond, we are to chose love, compassion and grace, as Jesus has shown us how to act.
